soloist

Its just me this weekend. Well, and Rose. C is out for time away from nagging jobs and brisk mornings and trading them for a few days of rock climbing and guy time in sunny (we hope) St George. Im sure there will be many moments of Halo-playing at the hotel and even more moments of longboarding at night - and Im told its just not as fun to do these activities in Salt Lake! Anyways, not to worry about me. I have a few ideas.

some items on my agenda:
online shopping - anthropologie.com is my weakness
(mostly window shopping Im afraid, but you never know when the mood may strike!)
watching 27 dresses and project runway reruns
girl time with LL
experimental baking - whole wheat bread?
NOT shaving my legs. because I can.

and best of all:
sleeping in a big fat X on a queen size bed all to myself

ps miss you C

apple pickin' people

Apple tree gave fruit this year - and the branches are bent so far because they are so heavy that they arc and touch the ground. I've been so excited to "harvest". Watching them grow from little nuggets to green and yellow balls the size of walnuts, and now to see them in all their red and pink glory as fat, sweet Galas... pretty cool stuff.
This beauty was my favorite, as evidenced here:
The funny thing about apples straight from the tree is that most of them are crap, a shame considering the mess and clean up involved. Not to mention that Rosie has strewn them all across the lawn in efforts to get them to roll like the tennis balls she is so fond of. Most of them ended up here:

But the keepers ended up here:

new 'puter

and none of our pictures have transferred or else i would have an awesome blog full of pics showing me and my attempts at french bread... attempts is correct. but for now i will let you know that 24" is too much monitor - my eyes dont know where to go - and that im getting really good at mahjong. C usually deletes all the "dumb games" (ahem, his words) so there is more hard drive for his lameness... oy ... do i even dare to say it?... his WOW addiction is why we got the newest addition to our family anyways. oh and the expansion comes out the day before my birthday. how cruel is life? oh well, there better be some William Sonoma goodies wrapped up nicely for me that day is all im saying... freaking wife of the century over here...
